Frequently asked questions
Is Bitsbox right for my kids?
Bitsbox is intended for kids ages 6-12. If your kids can read, they can learn to code with Bitsbox.
No coding experience yourself? No problem! Bitsbox can teach your kids to code without any help from a grownup!
All kids love the instant gratification of seeing their creations come to life on screen. Plus, building and playing their own app keeps them engaged for hours!
Who made Bitsbox?
Bitsbox was created by two dads and ex-Googlers. They wanted to teach their own kids how to code, but other products out there weren’t quite right.
So, they quit their jobs and built this comprehensive learning system.
Now, Bitsbox is a team of 10 men and women in Boulder, CO.
How does it work?
Every month, a new set of app projects is delivered in the mail. Kids pick a project, type the code into the Bitsbox website, and then customize it to make the game their own.
Bitsbox apps run on any computer, tablet, or phone with a web browser!
Kids learn a new computer science concept every month. That means that kids learn the skills that will allow them to build their own games from scratch!
How much does it cost?
Every box comes with a dozen beautiful app projects that each result in an insanely fun game. You even get a handy binder to store them in!
The Bitsbox learning system teaches computer science concepts in an intentional order so that coders maximize their STEM learning. Each month, the projects get more challenging, and the apps get more complex and fun!
Every subscription also comes with unlimited customer support for both coders and their grownups. Our team is available 7 days a week to answer questions!
Subscriptions start at $16.95/month—which is just a fraction of the cost of typical coding camps, tutors, or classes—while still teaching a valuable skill and providing an engaging activity to do at home.
